Provides public health services to all residents of McDonough County. MCHD focuses on four main areas of
public health community, environmental, family and emergency preparedness. Open M-Th 7:30 am to 5 pm.

  • Smoking Cessation Assistance (qualifying individuals)
  • Unwanted Medication Disposal (not controlled, which must be disposed of by the police)
  • Immunizations (Flu, Pneumonia, and Shingles shots)

MDH is designated by Southern Illinois University as a "Primary Provider" in assisting with the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Interdisciplinary team provides evaluation and follow-up.

An integrated patient care department that includes advocate services, social services and spiritual care. The staff provides support and problem-solving assistance to patients, families, and visitors.

  • Provide assistance with arranging durable medical equipment.

The Transitions Therapy Group is for those adjusting to the changes of later life. Other BHS therapy groups include: Management, Chronic Pain, Depression, and Substance Abuse. For pre-registration and session fees, call BHS.

Offers group, individual and family therapy for seniors suffering from depression, anxiety, unresolved grief or any problem that is affecting quality of life. The voluntary program is approximately 8-12 weeks with group therapy 2-4 days per week (M-F) Noon meal is served during the treatment day. Treatment team includes a psychiatrist to evaluate and provide medication management for the behaviorial health diagnosis. Our goal is to help seniors safely return to their optimal style of living.

Culbertson Memorial Hospital offers a monthly support group meeting where survivors, their families or caregivers can come together and share their experiences, learn valuable information from the speakers and ask advice when needed. The meeting are held the 3rd Thursday of every month at 5:30 pm.at Culbertson Gardens, 400 Logan Street, Rushville, IL. If you would like to attend the meeting, please call Lori Thomas. Open to residents of McDonough and Schuyler counties.
